Building located at 2119 East South Boulevard. The other class is held
on certain scheduled Saturdays from 9 am until 3 pm. Patients can enroll in
these classes through their Care Coordinator or by calling the Gift of
Life office at 272-1820.
Coosa Valley Medical Center (Talladega County), Russell Medical
Center (Tallapoosa County), and Citizens Baptist Medical Center
(Talladega County) all offer Childbirth Classes for maternity patients
in their area.
The classes at Coosa Valley Medical Center are presented by Women's
Services at Coosa Valley Medical Center, Sylacauga Family Health Center,
and Sylacauga Obstetrics and Gynecology. The class is held once a month.
The class is a three hour session. The presentation is conducted by a
Women's Services nurse. There are also guest speakers, refreshments,
door prizes, and a tour of the Labor and Delivery unit. Classes are

Russell Medical Center offers childbirth classes on certain scheduled
Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. The session consists of 5 consecutive
Tuesday night classes. These classes are covered by Medicaid. The
hospital also offers classes for a fee on breastfeeding, infant and
child basic life support, and newborn care. For more information on

Childbirth classes at Citizens Baptist Medical Center meet on Monday
nights from 6-8 p.m. in the Banquet Room at the hospital. These classes
are free. To register, call (256) 761-4595 and leave your name, phone
number, and due date on the voice mail.
